Obituary

Barbara A. (Coughlin) Moreau, 88, wife of the late Romeo Moreau, passed away on February 25, 2019. Barbara was born in Springfield, MA, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (O’Brien) Coughlin. She grew up in West Springfield, MA, and spent most of her life in Agawam, MA, where she raised her family with her late husband and soul mate Romeo Moreau. Known best for being a fun-loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Barbara thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed traveling and had a true love for the beach, especially Cape Cod. She would frequently take spontaneous day trips with her husband which often included shopping, Vermont scenery, and pastries. In later years, they enjoyed spending the winter months in Florida soaking up the sun and playing board games. Barbara spent the last five years living at Suffield Commons where she made several close-knit friends. She looked forward to spending most Thursday evenings on a "date night" with her daughter Mary. She possessed the gift of gab and would make friends easily wherever she went. Regardless of where she was, Barbara’s love for people, her family, and sweets always shone through. Barbara is survived by her three sons, Michael Moreau and his wife Jayne of Ballston Spa, NY, Keith Moreau and his wife Robin of West Suffield, CT, Stephen Moreau and his wife Allison of Bristol, CT; a daughter Mary Jenks and her husband David of Feeding Hills; two sisters in law, Jean Blood and Lorraine Polverini; six grandchildren; Evan and his wife Jennifer, Megan and her husband James, Michael and his fiancé Jordan, Kate, Corey and Kyle; 3 great grandchildren, Elliott, Joni, and Zoey. She also leaves behind many extended family members including beloved nieces and nephews as well as dear friends. Calling hours will take place from 4:00PM – 7:00PM on Friday March 1, 2019 in the Colonial Forastiere Family Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday March 2, 2019 at the Second Baptist Church, 100 North Main Street, Suffield, CT. Burial is private.
