EAST LONGMEADOW – Anthony F. Keating, 91, passed away on November 6, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Franklin, NH on February 21, 1928 to the late Frederick and Mary (McMahon) Keating, he graduated from Franklin High School in the Class of 1947. From January, 1951 – January, 1953, Tony proudly served his country in the United States Army. He then attended New Hampshire Technical Institute in Portsmouth, NH, graduating in 1955. For 35 years, Tony was employed at Western Mass Electric Company as a Test Technician, retiring in 1990. He was a faithful communicant of St. Michael’s Parish in East Longmeadow and was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 60 years and the American Legion in East Longmeadow for over 25 years. He loved bowling & golf as a young adult. Later in life, he became passionate about painting and playing cards particularly Bridge. Predeceased by his loving wife of over 51 years, Mary C. (Shannon) Keating who passed away on November 17, 2013, Tony leaves his sons Michael W. Keating and his wife, Kimberly, of Keene, NH, Stephen R. Keating and his wife, Kristin, of Round Rock, TX and Timothy J. Keating of Round Rock, TX as well as his seven grandchildren Meghan, Kyle, and Kelsey all of Keene and Alexander, Cassandra, Cameron and Makayla of Round Rock. Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, November 11, 2019 from 3 – 7 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow, MA. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 beginning at 10:45 AM at the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12 Noon at St. Michael’s Parish, 128 Maple Street, East Longmeadow, MA. Committal services and military honors will be at 2 PM at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Main Street, Agawam, MA.
