Anna Brunt

Anna (Rau) Brunt, 87, lifelong resident of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center. She was one of five children, her parents are the late Sante and Donatina (Ditullio) Rau. Anna was a graduate of the High School of Commerce. She worked for the State of Massachusetts as a Supervisor for the Department of Transitional Assistance for over 25 years. She enjoyed playing taking trips to the casino and playing the slot machines, and thoroughly enjoyed her family.

Anna was predeceased by her beloved husband Stewart Brunt. She is survived by her three children: Dianna McLaughlin of Ludlow, William “Bill” Brunt of Springfield, and Richard “Rick” Brunt of Westfield; her cherished grandchildren: Laura, Timothy, Erik, Sheila and Caron; and adored one great-granddaughter Deja; a brother, William Rau of Ludlow; and two sisters, Theresa Rau of Agawam and Lucy Rau of Springfield. Besides her husband and parents, Anna was predeceased by her sister Mary Biscotti.

Anna’s life was celebrated with a private family ceremony at Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation in East Longmeadow on Friday, February 22, 2019 with burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Springfield. Donations may be made in Anna’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
