East Longmeadow – Andrea Deborah Gamsby, 41, died unexpectedly on January 22, 2023. She was born in Springfield, MA, the daughter of the late Larry C. Gamsby Jackson and Vicki (Ramsey) Garvey. She moved to East Longmeadow at a young age and attended Birchland Park Middle School and East Longmeadow High School with the class of 2000. She was a kind and generous person, a loving mother, and a positive light in this world that will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was a social butterfly, who was always checking in on family and friends, and looked forward to every family gathering. She loved music, and dancing, and just being around people. Her pride and joy was her family, and she was so proud of her daughter, Gianna, and her son, Matthew, for all that they accomplished. As a single mother, Andrea showed her children bravery, kindness, love, and to always look for the good in people. Her spark of life will be cherished and remembered as her lasting legacy.

Andrea leaves behind her two children; Gianna Alves and Matthew Zaldivar of East Longmeadow, her mother, Vicki (Ramsey) Garvey and step-father, Lawrence Garvey, of Deland, FL, siblings; Melissa Hedeen and her husband Paul of Chicopee, MA, Natasha J. Lawson and her husband James of Winsted, CT, Cameron Gamsby of Westfield, MA, Sarah Gamsby of Germany, Ian Gamsby of Palmer, MA and Kristen Gamsby of Preston, CT; her nephews, Troy Robitaille and Eric Lawson, and many extended family members and friends.

She was also predeceased by her brother Christopher Zeigler.

Family and friends are invited to gather together and remember Andrea on Friday February 3, 2023 from 4pm – 6pm at Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation, 220 N. Main St., East Longmeadow. A service of celebration will follow at 6pm. Her daughter has requested that everyone wear something green in honor of Andrea. She would want everyone to remember her through celebration.
