Alfred “Al” Recor of Springfield passed away with his loving family by his side on November 4th. He was born in and was a lifelong Springfield resident. Al was employed at Sodexo Foodservice where he was a hard worker and known as being their go-to guy for just about anything that needed to be done. Al was an avid artist who loved to paint and draw. He was also a gifted cook who could make just about any dish you wanted. Al was loved by everyone and was quick to make you laugh with his wonderful sense of humor. He was also a devoted Thunderbirds and Bruins fan, never missing a game in person or on the radio; he also liked the Red Sox. Al loved to volunteer where he could-always willing to lend a helping hand. In addition, he was a dedicated communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. Al was predeceased by his parents. He will forever be missed by his loving wife and faithful companion of 18 years, Carol (Harnois) Recor; his mother-in-law Dr. Veronica Harnois; Brothers-in-law Kent (Chris) and John Harnois; Sisters-in-law Kathleen (Lee) Duquette, Sheila Foley, and Jeanne Harnois. He also leaves his nieces and nephew Marissa and Christina Duquette, Karissa Foley, and Caitlin, Abigail, and Stephen Harnois as well as countless friends too numerous to mention. Al’s family would like to thank Multicultural Community Services for their years of dedicated service and care. A period of visitation for Al held on Tuesday November 10th from 4-7pm at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home 220 North Main St East Longmeadow, with a celebration of life beginning at 7pm. Burial will follow at 11:00am on Friday November 13th at Hillcrest Park Cemetery. To leave a condolence for Al, please visit www.forastiere.com
