SPRINGFIELD – Aida Luz López, 81, passed away on October 27, 2020 at East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center. She was born in Naguabo, Puerto Rico on March 13, 1939 to the late Marcelo López Cartagena and Josefa Santiago.
She was a former employee of Baystate Health and also sold Avon for many years. In her spare time, Aida enjoyed cooking, gardening and reading. As a devout Catholic, she was a faithful communicant of Holy Name Parish and was very involved in church activities. Her family will fondly remember Aida as a caring, loving woman and as a loving and supportive grandmother.
To cherish her memory, she leaves her husband Charles Dinnie; her daughters Ivette Diaz and Roxanne Durant; her grandchildren Raven and Elijah Durant; her great grandchild Maui Vargas; her sisters Carmen Perez and Silvia Claudio as well as her aunt Paquita Cardenas.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, November 2, 2020 from 9 – 11 AM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow with a service at 11 AM. Committal services will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum, St. Michael’s Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield. MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING IS REQUIRED WHILE ATTENDING SERVICES.
