Theresa Elizabeth Golon

Theresa “Terry” E. Golon, 79, of East Longmeadow, beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Golon, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018. Born in Springfield, MA on April 11, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Stephen J. and Sophie (Broton) Lepianka. Terry attended Our Lady of the Rosary School and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1956. She worked for Shawmut First Bank in the Data Processing Center for 14 years before working for American Saw and Manufacturing Company as a Purchasing Clerk, retiring in July of 1995. Terry loved to tend to her garden. Her greatest passion by far was her family; she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She leaves her 4 children, Joseph Lepianka and his wife Debra of Feeding Hills, Debra Bellefeuille and her husband Michael of Springfield, Joseph Golon and his wife Michele of East Longmeadow, and Mary Bradway and her husband Jeffrey of Wilbraham; 5 grandchildren, Amy, Joe, Joseph, Hadleigh, and Tyler; and 2 great-grandchildren, Michael and Stephan. Besides her beloved husband Joseph, she was predeceased by her brother, Stephen Lepianka.
Her family will receive friends on Friday, January 19th from 4-7 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow. Her Funeral Service will begin on Saturday, January 20th at 8 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 AM at St. Cecilia’s Parish, Wilbraham. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Springfield.
The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nursing Staff in the ICU at Mercy Medical Center for their kind and compassionate care of Terry.
