Scott J. Bergman

Scott J. Bergman, 66, of Wilbraham, beloved husband of Jennifer Bergman, passed away unexpectedly on July 18, 2017 in St. Croix. Born in Springfield, MA on March 7, 1951, he was the son of the late Daniel and Rosaline (Ascher) Bergman. Scott was the President of Retirement Planning Associates, LLC. He was renowned for his inspirational approach, and recognized as one of the best field trainers in the insurance industry. He was a member of the National Institute of Certified Estate Planners and was in the estate planning and insurance industry for over 40 years. Additionally, Scott was President and Founder of Edge Insurance Consulting, LLC. He was a tremendous athlete and excelled in many sports, including billiards and bowling. He was a member of the Melha Shriners in Springfield. A truly one of a kind man, Scott’s heart knew no boundaries and his love and devotion to his family, friends, and clients was beyond words. He was a man of great integrity, honesty, love, humor, and complete selflessness to all he encountered. He leaves his wife Jennifer; his twin-sister, Shelley LaCross; his 2 step-sons, Dustin and Alex Viands; and his 2 nephews, Craig and Scott Jenkins; and countless friends and colleagues who will dearly miss him. He was predeceased by his brother, Neil J. Bergman. A Celebration of Scott’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 1st at 2:00 PM at the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow. Burial will be private.
