1949-2017
Feeding Hills- Samuel “Sam” P. Fay, age 68 passed away on September 4, 2017 surrounded by his loving family after battling a long illness. Born in Emmet County, MI he was the son of the late Russell and Joyce (Mallory) Fay. He was a graduate of Alpena High School (1967), Alpena Community College (1969) both in Alpena, MI and a 1973 Greenfield Community College Graduate of the Nursing Program. As a Registered Nurse, he was employed by Baystate Medical Psychiatric Unit for 35 years and the Holyoke Soldiers Home for 3 and a half years. He enjoyed staying in his condo in Ormand Beach Fl., playing racquet ball, running, topper cigars and spending time with his children, family and friends. He is survived by his daughter Aimee Fay of Agawam, his son Andrew Fay and daughter-in-law Courtney of Agawam, ex-wife and friend Laurie Fay of Feeding Hills. 5 brothers Dennis Fay and wife Verna of Carp Lake/Levering, MI, Steve Fay and wife Frances of Carp Lake/Levering MI, Larry Fay and wife Lou of Traverse City, MI, Ernie Fay and wife Ellie of Cheboygan, MI, Tom Fay and wife Xiau of Traverse City, MI; and a sister Barbara Cadwell and husband Sam of Carp Lake /Levering, MI and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4PM to 7 PM on Saturday Sept. 23, 2017 at Colonial Forastiere Family Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam, with a sharing of memories at 7 PM.
