Robert J. Bruso

Fairhaven, MA – Robert J. “Bob” “Bobby” Bruso, 55, formerly of Springfield and West Springfield, passed away Tuesday February 13, 2018 at Boston Medical Center. Born in Springfield to the late Robert E. and Dora (Mazza) Bruso, he was educated in Springfield Schools. In earlier years, Bob worked as a DJ and The Reminder Newspaper. He later worked under three different Mayors for the Town of West Springfield and most recently as a Media Access Director in Fairhaven, MA. Bob had a love for music and playing the guitar, as well as skate boarding and photography. He will be remembered for his quick wit, creativity and unique and comical personality. He will be dearly missed by his two children, Brandon Gilmet of Southwick and Domonique Bruso of North Dakota; his three sisters, Beverly Graham and Diane Calabrese, both of West Springfield and Deborah Collins of Springfield; four nieces, Marlo, Angela and her husband Matt, Erin and her husband Marco and Bridget and by three great-nieces, Gianna, Isabella and Ava.
Family and friends are invited to meet for calling hours on Monday February 19th from 4-7 PM at Forastiere Funeral Home, 45 Locust St., Springfield. Bob’s funeral ceremony will be held on Tuesday February 20th starting at 8:30 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 47 Pine St. in West Springfield. Burial will be private at a later date in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Springfield.
