Richard Paul Cote

Richard P. Cote, 85, of East Longeadow, formerly of Springfield, beloved husband of Marilyn (Kirk) Cote, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017. Born in Springfield, MA on December 25, 1931, he was the son of the late Eli and Della (Langevin) Cote. Dick graduated from Technical High School in 1950 and enlisted in the US Navy, serving during the Korean War. He worked for Verizon for 30 years as an equipment installer. Dick was a life member of the Springfield Lodge of Elks #61. He was the Chairman of the Elks Fishing Derby for many years. Dick loved sports and enjoyed coaching youth teams in Springfield.
Besides his wife Marilyn, he leaves his son, Richard Cote, Jr. of Buffalo, NY; his daughter Wendy Kearney and her husband James of Springfield; 7 grandchildren, James Kearney, Jr., Sean, Ryan, and Maegan Kearney, Elizabeth Lynch, Rachel Fabrizio, and Kimberly Pressley; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 10th from 6-8 PM at the Springfield Lodge of Elks, 440 Tiffany St., Springfield, MA.
