Rena C. Braccialarghe

Agawam – Rena Catherine (Bertini) Braccialarghe, 99, passed away peacefully on Thursday February 23rd at Heritage Hall West in Agawam. Born in Springfield to the late Arturo and Teresa Bertini, she was a longtime area resident. During the war, Rena worked at Westinghouse and then at Buxton where she was employed as a leather worker for 25 years before her retirement. After retirement, Rena went back to work for Gentiva as a healthcare aide. She was never idle and always kept busy by helping and doing for others. To Rena, her family was everything. She loved her family vacations to the Connecticut Shore as well as her many trips, including Florida, Hawaii and Italy. She was most known for her Italian cooking and getting people together for a good homestyle meal. She will be dearly missed by her three children, Theresa Worster and her husband Gill of Potsdam, NY, Vincent Bracci and his wife Jean of Agawam and Donald Braccialarghe and his wife Deborah of Agawam; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Rena was predeceased by her loving husband, Domenico Braccialarghe in 1980 and by her three siblings, Florence, Bruno and Hugo. The family wishes to thank the management and staff of Heritage Hall West in Agawam for kindness and compassionate care through the years. Family and friends are invited to meet for calling hours on Sunday February 26th from 4-7 PM at the Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam. Rena’s funeral ceremony will be held on Monday February 27th starting at 9AM at the funeral home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, 823 Main St., Agawam. Burial will be held in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
