Patrick Joseph Sullivan

Patrick J. Sullivan, 90, of Chicopee, beloved husband of 35 years of Sandra (Lynn) Sullivan, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Soldier’s Home in Holyoke. Born in Malden, MA on February 24, 1927, he was the son of the late Cornelius and Margaret (O’Sullivan) Sullivan. He served his country proudly during World War II in the United States Army. Patrick worked for Swift and Company for 38 years before retiring.  He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a Eucharistic Minister for Mercy Hospital and Providence Behavioral Hospital for many years.  Besides his wife Sandra, he is survived by 2 sons, Kevin and Mark Sullivan, his daughter, Linda Quenneville; 3 step-children, Steven Erickson, Jennifer Reiss, and Michele Tenerowicz; 10 grandchildren, Jillian, Keith, Kelli, Ryan, Amy, Danielle, Sarah, Heather, Dylan, and Courtney; and 1 great-grandson. He was predeceased by his first wife, Marion Sullivan, and his sister, Anne Connaire.
There will be no visiting hours.  Funeral Mass will be at Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA at 11:00 AM Monday, July 31.  Burial with Military Honors will be at the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Agawam at 1:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Society for the Propagation of the Faith for the benefit of Fr. Fred Cournoyer’s mission in Honduras, P O Box 1730, Springfield, MA 01102-1730. Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home has care of arrangements.
