A family member of mine was at Oxford with Mitch. I am so very sorry for your loss and hope you find some comfort in your memories of better times in his life. Addiction is hard on the entire family. Hoping you can find some comfort knowing he is finally at peace.

Dear Evelyn,
I hold you in my heart as you grieve for the loss of your beautiful son. He valiantly struggled to overcome the his illness. As we learn more of this disease we see how difficult the recovery process is and how loaded with danger the path to recovery is.
Like you, I am a mother of sons. I live with the knowledge that we cannot protect them as they gain their independence no matter our parenting. When my sons were 19, these drugs were not available and yet they lost friends to other addictions and accidents cause by them. Today, there are so many more easily available deadly attractions and I know all to well how the young seek their independence and make impulsive decisions.
Thank you for sharing this tragedy with us and for raising our awareness. I wish I could share your sorrow and lighten your load. Please know that you will be in my thoughts in all the days to come.
Corliss

My heart breaks for all of you at this difficult time. Please take some comfort knowing that you have so many people who loved Mitch and the whole family. He added something special to everyone who knew him. His smile was contagious and lit up every room he was in. He loved his family fiercely. He will be greatly missed by many. I am so incredibly sorry for all of the loss and pain you are going through. I will always be here for you... Love you all
