Mitchell J. Ouimette

Easthampton – Mitchell J. Ouimette, 19, of Easthampton, passed away peacefully at home on Friday September 22nd 2017 after struggling with an addiction that he courageously tried to overcome. He was born on February 22, 1998 to James and Evelyn (Rivera) Ouimette. Mitch was a 2016 graduate of Hampshire Regional High School where he was a standout player for the Eagles football (#5) and basketball teams. He always loved being involved in sports and developed many wonderful friendships over the years. Mitch is remembered for his infectious smile, his goofy sense of humor and tremendous athletic ability. It is so sad to let Mitch go, but there is comfort in knowing that he is now at peace.

He will be dearly missed by his loving parents, James (Tina) of Easthampton and Evelyn (Arlindo) of Springfield; his sister, Chantel of Springfield; paternal grandmother, Connie Ouimette; maternal aunts and uncles, Nereida Roman (David), Norma Rivera, Migdalia Ramirez (Noel) Aida Rodriguez Jafari (Jeff) and Irma Alicea, Juan Rivera (Milta), Rafo Rivera, Orlando Rivera (Jane) and Ricky Rivera (Wallis); his paternal aunts and uncles, Chuck Ouimette (Kathy), Tom Ouimette (Louise) John Ouimette (Mary); Linda Ouimette and Jen Ouimette as well as many dear cousins and friends whom he loved dearly.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Charles Ouimette; maternal grandparents, Herminia and Victor Rivera; and his uncles, Victor Rivera and David and Michael Ouimette.

Family and friends are invited to meet for calling hours on Thursday September 28th from 4 – 8 PM at the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow. Mitchell’s funeral ceremony will be held on Friday September 29th at 10 AM at the funeral home followed by burial in Center Cemetery in Southampton.
