Mary A. Martini

Mary A. Martini, 86, of Feeding Hills, formerly of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017. Born in Avalino, Italy on January 26, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Felicia Lucerino. She immigrated to the US and her family settled in the South End of Springfield. She met and married Marino Martini and they raised their family in Springfield. Mary worked for Mass Mutual for many years before retiring in 1993. Among her favorite hobbies was going to the movies, going out to eat, and watching her grandsons play soccer. She was predeceased by her husband Marino in 1975; her sisters, Rita Fermano and Alba Lucerino; and her son-in-law Frank Nitri. She leaves her 4 children, James Martini and his wife Marie, Barbara Nitri, Joseph Martini and his husband Anthony Carrabino, and Jeffrey Martini and his wife Susan; 3 grandchildren, Christian Martini and Vincent and Anthony Nitri; 2 step-grandchildren, Christopher and Alex Roy; her brother Joseph Lucerino and his wife Elaine; and her sister Gloria Southard and her husband Thomas. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 26th from 6-8 PM at Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam. Services will be private.
