Joyce S. Saegaert

Joyce Shirley Saegaert, 73, of Feeding Hills, beloved wife of Cobus “Coby” Saegaert, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on November 14, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Tobey Sr. and Maude (Hughes) Tobey. Joyce worked for Buxton’s in Agawam for many years, before retiring from Southworth Paper Company after 28 years. Joyce loved to travel, play Keno, and was a fan of the Red Sox. Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother and grandmother and she will be dearly missed. Besides her husband Cobus, she leaves her son, Raymond L. Saegaert and his wife Wendy, and her grandson, Cobus R. Saegaert of West Springfield; her brother, George Tobey and his wife Patricia of Westfield; 4 sisters, Barbara E. Belden, Elsie E. Carron and her husband Ephraim, and Gloria J. Clarke all of Wilbraham, and Shirley Chechile of Agawam. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Raymond Tobey, Jr. and Kenneth Tobey; and her sister, Margaret Record. Her family will receive friends on Friday, August 4th from 6-8 PM at the Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam. Her Funeral Service will take place Saturday, August 5th at 11 AM. Burial will be private in Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.
