Jeffrey G. Jones

WILBRAHAM – Jeffrey G. Jones, 60, passed away on May 25, 2017 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA in 1956 to the late James and Ruth (Lloyd) Jones, he graduated summa cum laude from Wilkes University with a Biology degree. He received his master’s in Zoology from the University of Rhode Island. He was most recently employed at Athena Diagnostics in Marlborough, MA as a Director of Operations. A true outdoorsman, Jeff was dedicated to the preservation of nature and wildlife, and he shared his love for marine life with his family. He was continuously giving back to society and had a lifelong passion of learning and teaching. Jeff kept his father’s love for trains alive in his own model railroads and train adventures with his children. Jeff leaves his loving wife Christine Evanchick of Wilbraham; his sons Justin Jones of Boston and Christopher Jones of Wilbraham; his daughter Rachel Jones of Boston and his brothers James Jones of Trucksville, PA and Jonathan Jones of Bayou Vista, TX. Family and friends are invited to gather on June 9 from 4 to 7 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow, MA. A memorial service will be held on June 10 at 10:30 AM at the East Longmeadow United Methodist Church 215 Somers Road, East Longmeadow, MA.
