James F. Starr
January 22, 1959 ~ April 11, 2024 (age 65) 65 Years Old
James (Jim) F. Starr, 65, passed away unexpectedly on April 11, 2024, at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his loving Wife and family. Jim was born in Dover, Delaware and was one of six children. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Richard J. Starr and Loretta (Minihan) Starr as well as a brother, Patrick J. Starr and sister, Katheen Starr Kord.
Jim is survived by his Wife, Christina (Tina) and two sons, James (JC) and Christopher of Florida. Additionally, he leaves his step-sons Cameron Pinkham and his wife Jessika and their daughter Emeri and Kyle Pinkham, who he proudly helped raise as his own.
Jim also leaves a brother Richard of West Springfield, sister Peggy Leganza and Husband Ron of Middlefield, and sister Mary Ellen Berselli and Husband Jeff of Westfield. Jim will be sorely missed by countless friends, most especially his loyal lifetime friend, John Winiarski. Mason, his cocker spaniel and dedicated sidekick, will always be by his side in spirit.
Jim attended Chicopee High School and Springfield Technical Community College. He worked at Deluxe Check and Printing Services for over 20 years and Smith Wesson (proud to be made in America) for a decade as a machinist.
Jim had a contagious smile, larger than life sense of humor, and was always there for his family & friends. His nieces and nephews absolutely adored him - especially summers playing in the pool, driving the Jeep top down, and riding on his crown John Deere tractor. Jim & Tina loved visiting warm, sunny places and will always cherish their special memories together.
Jim was a force of life, mighty and active, and a hands-on, do-it-yourself leader. He loved nothing more than to tinker on cars and taught his sons how to be mechanically inclined. He selflessly helped countless family & friends with home improvement projects.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 10 AM – 1 PM at Colonial Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 985 Main Street, Agawam. A service will take place at 1 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Baystate Medical Hospital Intensive Care, 280 Chestnut Street Springfield, MA 01199 or Dakin Humane Society, PO Box 6307, Springfield, MA 01101.
Jim will be dearly missed by all and we celebrate his life. His high spirits will continue to live on within us forever. God bless him and may he forever rest in peace.
