Edward Brock Rollins

January 23, 1951 ~ July 3, 2017 (age 66) 66 Years Old
Edward B. Rollins, 66, of Harmony, Pennsylvania (formerly of Ellington, Connecticut), beloved husband of Paula (Lapinska-Draeger), passed away peacefully Monday, (July 3, 2017), at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania surrounded by members of his loving family. Ed was born January 23, 1951, in Hartford, Connecticut. He was the son of Edward (Bill) Rollins and the late Elinor (Betty) Rollins. Ed had proudly worked for Westinghouse Electric Company for 40 years; planning to retire in 2018. He began his career in Connecticut, where he worked his way up to Plant Manager of the New Britain operation before being transferred, in 2007, to Pennsylvania. He was an enthusiastic sports fan, with a love for the New England Patriots. He enjoyed the beach, family trips to OBX, boating, going on cruises, and buying and working on cars. His most recent creation was a 2005 Red Chevy Corvette. Ed was known for putting others first, and will live on through the many people’s lives that he touched. He was a devoted family man, always caring for and spending time with them. In addition to his loving wife Paula, Ed is survived, and will be dearly missed by his son Christopher Rollins of Wendell, NC, his daughters Stephanie Orsini and her husband Frank of Bloomfield, CT and Jennifer Balut and her husband Jason of South Hadley, MA. Ed will also live on, through the joy of his life, his grandson, Mason Balut and will be fondly remembered and missed by his sister Pamela Hirsch and her children; Sarah, Seth and his wife Houria; and, lastly, by his loving mother-in-law Ann Lapinska. He was preceded in death by his previous wives; Susan Lapinska and Joanne Kurdrzal. Ed’s family would like to give special thanks to the many doctors (especially Dr. Kenneth Lee), nurses and staff at Montefiore, Presbyterian and Select Specialty Hospitals for all of the help and care that they provided Ed. And in addition, would like to thank all for the prayers, support and assistance during this difficult time. Special thanks also to Ed’s best friend, and partner in crime, Bob Presutti. Ed’s family will receive friends on Sunday, July 9th from 3-6 PM at the Southwick Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, Southwick. His Funeral Service will take place on Monday, July 10th at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at New Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Ed’s family asks that memorial donations be made to: UPMC – Medical & Health Sciences Foundation, Forbes Tower, Suite 8084, 3600 Forbes Avenue & Meyran Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA. 15213.
