Dolores L.(Pieper) Kessler

LONGMEADOW- Dolores L. (Pieper) Kessler, 94, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Dolores was born in Flushing, NY, on February 24, 1923 to the late Emil A. Pieper and Florence (Brugger) Pieper. She graduated from Bennett High School in Buffalo, NY. Dolores supported the World War II effort by working at the Curtiss Wright Aircraft Co. in Buffalo from 1942 to 1944.
After the war, in 1945, Dolores married Joseph A. Kessler, Jr. Together they raised five children, and were married for 70 years until Joe’s death in April 2016.
Dolores was an accomplished equestrian, and was an avid tennis player and golfer at the Longmeadow Country Club, where she was a longtime member.
Dolores is survived by her five children: Joseph A. Kessler III (Christine) of Springfield, MA; Lynn A Levesque of Shutesbury, MA; Peter J. Kessler of Chicopee, MA; Christopher P. Kessler (Bernadette) of Wilmington, DE; and John A. Kessler of Springfield, MA. She also leaves six grandchildren:  Suzanne, Real, Peter, Andrew,
Piper, and Elizabeth; and four great-grandchildren: Abigail, Mila, Realle, and Coral.
Services will be private. Burial will be in Longmeadow Cemetery, Longmeadow, MA at the convenience of the family.
