Chicopee- Bianca Italia (Antico) Panzetti, 81, died on June 4, 2017 at her home in Chicopee.
Born in Riggio, Calabria, Italy to the late Gaetano and Mary (Riggio) Antico, she was a lifelong resident of
East Longmeadow; but lived in Chicopee for the last three years. Bianca leaves her devoted husband Alberto of 61 years; 2 sons, Gianni (John) Panzetti and his girlfriend Lynn, of Belchertown, Joseph Panzetti and his wife Laura, of East Longmeadow; one daughter, Linda and her husband Anthony DeCasse Jr., of Chicopee; a brother, Salvatore Antico and his wife Sandra (“Bianca’s best friend”); 2 sisters, Julia Tomaino, Rose Gasteyer and her husband Bob; 6 grandchildren, Serena Panzetti, Stefania DeCasse, Adriana Strycharz and husband Robbie, Vanessa Galas and husband Joshie, Vincent DeCasse and wife Alexis, Joseph DeCasse and girlfriend Maria; 5 great grandchildren, Tyler, Brady, Elorah, Caiden and Everett; 8 nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, many cousins, Godchildren, relatives from Italy, lifelong friends, her Alpine and Westwood Avenue friends, and her former daughter-in-law, Lina. In addition to her parents, Bianca was predeceased by a granddaughter, Katrina Panzetti; a nephew, Dino Antic; and a brother-in-law, Paul Tomaino. Bianca’s family would like to thank Dr. Buckburg, Dr. Naghbee, Dr. Sorrell and their entire staff. A thank you to the entire staff of Wernick ADH where Bianca spent a very happy two and one half years during the day. Thank you to Spectrum Hospice: “You were a blessing”. Bianca’s family will gather and receive friends from 8:30AM until 10:30 AM on Friday June 9, 2017 in the Forastiere Smith Family Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow. Ceremonies will begin at 10:30AM in the funeral home, to be followed by a procession and 11:30AM Liturgy of Christian Burial, in St. Michael’s Church, East Longmeadow. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, 1601 State St., Springfield. In lieu of flowers, Bianca would prefer that you made a donation to a charity of our choice in her name.
