Angelina A. (Battigaglia) Crupi, 85, of East Longmeadow, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Wingate at Wilbraham. Born in Cutro, Catanzaro, Italy on June 5, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Vittorio and Natalina (Pitera) Battigaglia.
Angelina came to the US on August 18, 1960. She worked at Rainbow Girl Coat Company for over 20 years. She loved gardening, sewing, and crocheting, but her greatest joy was cooking for her family and friends. Angelina loved to travel to Canada to visit her family.
She leaves her 5 devoted daughters, Francesca (Crupi) Cataldo and her husband Joseph of Bradford, Ontario, Natalina (Crupi) Panzetti and her husband Michael Sotiropoulos of Wilbraham, Luciana (Crupi) Minnella and her husband Vito, Theresa (Crupi) Minnella and her husband Rocco, and Victoria (Crupi) Topetto, all of Thunder Bay, Ontario; 14 grandchildren, Carlo Cataldo, Daniela Del Re and her husband Leonardo, Adriana Dias and her husband Michael, Sabrina Simpatico and her husband Alexander, Serena Panzetti, Adriana Strycharz and her husband Robert, Theresa Bortolussi and her husband John, Cosimo Minnella and his wife Christine, Carmen Minnella and his wife Sherry, Cosimo Minnella and his wife Sarah, Adrian Minnella and his wife Jennifer, Miranda Minnella, and Michael and Marlena Topetto, 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Angelina also leaves 3 brothers, Francesco, Gerardo, and Salvatore Battigaglia. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Carmelo A. Crupi in 1997, her brother Antonio Battigaglia, her sister, Maria Battigaglia, her son Michael Crupi, and her granddaughter, Katrina Panzetti.
Her family will receive friends on Thursday, January 18th from 10 AM -12 PM at the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, William St., Springfield. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
