East Longmeadow- Angela “Angie” (Verteramo) Waterman, 90, a life time resident of East Longmeadow, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 3, 2017. Angie was born on June 19, 1926 to the late James and Carmela (Schirripa) Verteramo. She was married 61 years to the love of her life, George W. Waterman who predeceased her on May 30, 2007. Angie was predeceased by her beloved son, George R. Waterman in 1985, her brother Peter Verteramo, her sisters, Teresa Murphy, Catherine Driscoll. Angie’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially family vacations spent at the Connecticut Shore. She was an avid reader, loved watching game shows, playing cards, bingo and bus trips to the casino. She was also a long time member of the I.T.A.M Post #64 Ladies Auxiliary. Angie loved going to work with her daughter Judy on Friday’s at the Beauty Salon. Her weekly visits there were spent with the “Golden Girls” who shared family stories and many laughs. Angie will be sadly missed by her two loving daughters, Judy Waterman of East Longmeadow, Gail Taylor and her husband Kenneth of Springfield, three cherished grandchildren, Ryan Taylor and his wife Laura, Lindsey Dufresne and her husband Eric of Springfield, Kyle Taylor of Boston, two adored great grandchildren, Aaron and Hayleigh Taylor, a special niece who was like a daughter, Donna Hurley, a dear sister Virginia Davis, a devoted friend and care giver, Ingrid Kuselias and nurse Stacy Arnold, two special neighbors John and Susan Godwin, along with many nieces, nephews, friends and other family. The family would like to extend thanks for the wonderful care and friendship shown to Angie and her daughters by the Kensington Staff at Redstone Rehabilitation in East Longmeadow, to the second floor Intermediate Care Staff at Mercy Medical Center, and to Chris and Brenda from Mercy Home Care. A funeral Service for Angie will begin at 10:00AM on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Forastiere Smith Family Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00AM celebrated in Holy Name Parish, 323 Dickinson St., Springfield. Angela will be laid to rest in St. Michael’s Cemetery, 1601 State St., Springfield. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4:00PM to 8:00PM on Wednesday, June 7th in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104
